Merritt Island, FL |
In 2023, JBPro was contracted to assist with the restoration and repair of levees on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge that suffered damage during Hurricane Ian in September 2022. As part of the project, JBPro conducted a topographic survey for 4 miles of damaged levees and extracted the topography from a high-density point cloud gathered via aerial LiDAR.
Additionally, to provide a more comprehensive and detailed understanding of the project site, our certified Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilots operated specialized drones to collect aerial imagery and produce an orthorectified image. In order to operate and fly drones in Kennedy Space Center’s restrictive airspace, our team coordinated extensively with multiple agencies including the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
