Poe Springs Park Restroom Addition

High Springs, FL

As part of our continued work with the Alachua County Parks and Open Spaces Department on improving the facilities at Poe Springs Park, JBPro provided civil engineering design, permitting, and construction services for the construction of a 600 square foot restroom building addition with an ADA accessible route to the existing pedestrian sidewalk. The restroom building design incorporates a prefabricated holding tank which will help prevent contamination during flooding events and improve water quality near the springs.

To facilitate the timely completion of the project, JBPro permitted the restroom addition through the Suwannee River Water Management District, completed a no-rise certificate for the Santa Fe River floodplain, prepared civil engineering construction drawings and an Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan. Additionally, our team coordinated closely with geotechnical and structural engineering subconsultants to ensure the inclusion of quality structural design considerations and recommendations.

In 2025, the new springside restroom facilities opened to the public as part of an effort to improve the visitor experience at Poe Springs Park. To learn about JBPro’s additional engineering projects at Poe Springs, click here:  Poe Springs Park Improvements
