Littlewood Elementary School Redevelopment
Gainesville, FL
With the goal of improving the existing school campus originally built in 1959, the Littlewood Elementary School redesign and redevelopment project for Alachua County Public Schools involved the construction of three new buildings, renovation of ten buildings, and demolition of nine buildings. From 2023 to 2025, JBPro completed a variety of services for the site including surveying, civil engineering design and permitting, and construction administration.
Specifically, the 13.24-acre revitalized campus included improvements like a newly designed pick-up and drop-off area to alleviate traffic congestion, restoration of the existing playgrounds, removal of all portable classroom spaces, the expansion of the school cafeteria, and added outdoor spaces throughout the campus. Our civil engineering team worked closely alongside Harvard Jolly Architects to refine the overall master plan layout for the campus, analyze the existing stormwater management system, and design the parking and bus loop revisions for the site. Additionally, our staff designed and permitted a driveway connection to NW 8th Avenue and roadway connection to NW 34th Street with Alachua County Public Works and the Florida Department of Transportation respectively.
The $37 million project wrapped up construction in August 2025, just in time for the faculty, staff, and students to enjoy it in the 2025-2026 school year.
